An Embarrassing Story

I was talking on the phone to KT last night and telling her about my perfect day. I started by telling her how I was able to go to the grocery store BY MYSELF to get stuff to make chicken chili stew in the crock-pot. After I set all that up, I went to the salon to get my eyebrows waxed, a manicure and a pedicure. AHHHH, heaven. Afterwards, I headed to the mall and found a nice down comforter for $30! It was originally $150! SCORE.  What a great day.

When dinner was ready, X-man's friends came over with their daddy, who happens to be Superdad's good friend. To end such a great day, I decided to treat myself to a glass of white wine.

I put the corkscrew into the bottle and then something strange happened. The bottle started to bubble where I put the corkscrew in. I called over the Superdad to help me. He came up and saw what I had done, which I thought was a pretty good job.

And then the Superdad started to laugh. And did not stop. Apparently, I found one of the only bottles of wine with a screwtop. Go me.

Spring IS coming

I don't know about you but I am ready for warm weather, flowers, yard work and longer days. This weekend, I decided to do a little bit of outside work.

While in Wal-Mart on Friday, I wandered into the very back of the garden section and found some clearance items.

I was really excited about this. I got a wax plant for $5 and some tulip bulbs for $1! Score! Here is the wax plant when I bought it.

The roots were coming out the bottom and the plant was not very happy with it's living conditions. Here is the plant after I repotted it.

I think that after a week or two, it will spread out more and be a much happier plant. Oh, and here are the bulbs that I got. I did separate them out and put them into pretty pots for now. After they all finish blooming, I will find a nice place in the yard for them.
